Gift Set To Sew For A Tea Lover | Free Patterns

Any one of these items is great to sew and give as a thank you gift, hosting gift, birthday gift, or Christmas gift. Especially if you know the recipient loves tea.

But it’s also a safe gift if you don’t know the recipient well (e.g. a coworker or neighbor) because most people either drink tea or serve tea in their home.

All items on this gift set list are beginner-friendly, making them quick and easy to sew. And they don’t require much in materials, so it keeps the costs low.

If you want to add to the gift, here are a few other items you could make or buy:

Teapot Cozy

This tea cozy is insulated with thermal batting so it will not only help protect the table’s surface but it will also keep the tea hot for longer.

The pattern comes in two sizes (one to fit most 2-cup tea pots and one to fit most 4-cup tea pots) and the drawstring tie makes it adjustable to get a snug fit around the top, no matter the shape of the teapot.

For a smaller gift set, this item pairs well with the coasters. Sew them in matching or coordinating fabric. You may also buy a teapot to go with it (2-cup or 4-cup) or a set of mixed teas.

Coasters

Depending on the recipient, you may want to sew a set of 2, 4, or 6 coasters. Match the fabric to the tea cozy, and these make a perfect set.

These are quick and easy to sew but have the mitered hem, which makes them feel a little more elevated and gift-worthy.

No printable pattern required as you simply need to cut out a few squares.

Tea Wallet

These are a great item to sew and give on their own as a small thank you or hosting gift. They’re simple to make and require minimal materials.

You can also make your wallet bigger or smaller to hold just 2 tea bags or more than 6.

Tea wallets are also used by people who travel. As an avid tea drinker, I’m picky about what type of tea I drink. I need my Earl Grey tea in the morning and hotel rooms don’t always stock it. So this is a perfect little pouch to keep my favorite tea with me.

Again, this sewing project doesn’t require a printed pattern; you simply need to cut out a few rectangular pieces of fabric.

Reusable Tea Bags

An alternative to the tea wallet (with tea pouches) or a good addition to a gift. I alternate between my pre-bagged teas and loose teas, so both items will be useful to most tea drinkers.

I love the reusable tea bags because they reduce waste and the microplastics/chemicals you can consume with many pre-bagged teas.

These are so simple to sew (especially if you skip the decorative tag) and I would suggest sewing a set of 2 – 6.

You could give a set of these reusable tea bags with a set of loose tea mixes.

If you have extra material, you could even make a much larger version of the reusable tea bag to create a gift bag that all the items fit in.
