Gift Set To Sew For A BBQ Lover | Free Patterns
This gift set is perfect for someone who loves to BBQ, but can obviously work for anyone who cooks or bakes.
Change up the fabric to make it more appropriate for BBQ-ing, smoking, cooking, baking, etc., and/or the recipient.
I think this set of products makes a great Father’s Day gift, but if you wanted to sew a set for mom, you can use more feminine fabrics.

You can also add to this gift set if you want to give a more substantial gift.
You could buy:
- BBQ utensils
- BBQ rubs or sauces
- Meat thermometer
- Cutting board
- A case of beer or drink mix
Mix and match any of these items and put them in a gift basket, box, or bag to create a thoughtful gift for a BBQ lover.
Oven Mitt

I like this puppet-style oven mitt for grilling because I find it easier to grip items. But if you prefer a regular style oven mitt, you can download the pattern below (and just skip the bow detail).

Sew two of these for a set, or just include one in the gift set, which can be used with a potholder. Alternatively, you could make a mini oven mitt (which is the same puppet-style, just shorter), or a pot pincher to match the oven mitt.

Square Potholder

This simple square potholder is easy to make and can double as a hot pad to set a hot dish down on.
Make it out of material that matches or coordinates with the oven mitt to create a cohesive gift set.
You can also add a pocket to the potholder if you want to make it easier to grip hot items. Here’s a free pattern you can follow:

Two-sided Dish Towel

What I like about this style of dish towel is that it’s nice and thick and absorbent, thanks to the two layers of fabric.
I also like the detail of the mitered corners and the contrasting fabrics, which makes it feel a little more special than a store-bought dish towel…perfect for a thoughtful gift.
But you could keep it simple and skip the bottom layer of fabric for a regular dish towel. Sew two or three matching/coordinating dish towels to bulk up the gift.
