Christmas Gift Set To Sew for the Kitchen (free patterns)

This article shares the free printable patterns and instructions for:
- A pot pincher (advanced)
- A pot holder (advanced)
- A tea towel with a fringed edge (beginner)
These 3 items work well together as a gift set for someone who loves to bake or cook. But I think anyone would love to receive this set to switch up their kitchen linens for the holidays.
Beginner project: Tea Towel
If you want a quick and easy gift to sew, these tea towels are perfect. The fringed edge makes them look a little more elevated but they’re a simple project.
Advanced projects: Pot Pincher & Pot Holder
These two items are a little more difficult to sew, due to the layers of batting and bias tape.
You could simplify the pot holder by skipping the pocket, so there are fewer layers of batting and fabric to sew through.
Gift Options
Sew all 3 items to gift together or create your own combination.
- A set of 2 or 3 tea towels in coordinating colors/patterns
- A set of 2 pot pinchers
- A set of 2 pot holders
Add-ons
When gifting any of these items (or all 3) to a friend, family member, or coworker, you can bulk it up by adding:
- A cookbook
- A wooden spoon
- Homemade cookies/salsa/jam/pasta sauce/etc.
- A bottle of wine

Tea Towel

This project doesn’t require a pattern because you simply need to cut a rectangle of woven fabric. Decide on the finished size you’d like (18″ x 28″ is a popular tea towel size but you can go bigger or smaller), then add 2″ to the width and 1″ to the length and cut your fabric to that size.
For example, if you’d like your finished tea towel to be 18″ x 28″, you’d cut your fabric to 20″ x 29″.
